אנו מדווחים על פיתוח של מערכת בחירה שלילית<em> א histolytica</em> מבוסס על ביטוי של חלבון מהונדס chimeric (FCU1) ובחירת עם prodrug 5-fluorocytosine. החלבון FCU1 הוא שילוב של דאמינז שמרים ציטוזין אורציל phosphoribosyltransferase. הביטוי של FCU1 הביא מוגבר<em> א histolytica</em> רגישות כלפי 5-fluorocytosine.
