Circulerende tumorcellen worden geïsoleerd uit het bloed van patiënten met kanker kan brengen zonder dat cellulaire schade. Isolatie van tumorcellen vindt plaats via een bimoleculaire oppervlak van E-selectine naast antilichamen tegen epitheliale markers.
