Denne protokol giver mulighed for en direkte sammenligning mellem planktonisk og biofilmresistens for en bakteriestamme, der kan danne en biofilm in vitro ved hjælp af en 96-brønds mikrotiterplade. Planktoniske eller biofilmbakterier udsættes for serielle fortyndinger af det valgte antimikrobielle middel. Levedygtigheden dæmpes af vækst på agarplader.
