एंटीफ्रीज प्रोटीन (AFPs) बर्फ के विशिष्ट विमानों को रोकने या धीमी बर्फ के विकास को रोकने के लिए बांधते हैं। फ्लोरेसेंस आधारित आइस प्लेन एफ़िनिटी (FIPA) विश्लेषण एएफपी-बाध्य बर्फ विमानों के निर्धारण के लिए मूल बर्फ-नक़्क़ाशी विधि का एक संशोधन है । AFPs फ्लोरोसेंटी लेबल, स्थूल एकल बर्फ क्रिस्टल में शामिल हैं, और यूवी प्रकाश के तहत कल्पना की ।
