Europium thenoyltrifluoroacetonate (EuTFC) een optische luminescentie lijn bij 612 nm, waarvan de activering efficiëntie sterk af met de temperatuur. Indien een monster bekleed met een dunne film van dit materiaal micro-afgebeeld, kan de 612 nm luminescentie reactie intensiteit worden omgezet in een rechtstreekse kaart monster oppervlaktetemperatuur.
