Vi beskriver en protokol for at kirurgisk afsløre og stabilisere den murine submandibulære spytkirtel for intravital billeddannelse ved hjælp af opretstående intravital mikroskopi. Denne protokol er let at tilpasse til andre eksokrine kirtler af hoved og hals region af mus og andre små gnavere.
