Her beskriver vi to foranstaltninger af pulmonal funktion – Barometrisk plethysmography, som giver mulighed for måling af lunge volumen, og volumetriske capnography, et redskab til at måle det anatomisk døde rum og airways ensartethed. Disse teknikker kan bruges uafhængigt eller kombineret for at vurdere airways funktion på forskellige lunge diskenheder.
