Hier gepresenteerd is een protocol voor primaire menselijke bloed monocyten isolatie evenals hun differentiatie in macrofagen en dendritische cellen en assemblage met epitheliale cellen in een meercellige menselijke long model. Biologische reacties van coculturen bestaande uit immuuncellen onderscheiden van vers geïsoleerde of ontdooide monocyten, bij blootstelling aan pro-inflammatoire stimuli, worden vergeleken.
