Primær flimmerhår er ekstracellulære strukturer forbundet med centriole. Primær deteksjon av flimmerhår av immunofluorescerende farging er en relativt enkel prosedyre som resulterer i ekstremt bilder av høy kvalitet. I denne protokollen ble fibroblaster som uttrykte primære flimmerhårene faste, immunostained og avbildet i et fluorescerende eller konfokalt mikroskop.
