Fibrin er ansvarlig for blodpropdannelse under hæmostase og trombose. Turbiditet assays og tromboelastograhy (TEG) kan udnyttes som synergistiske værktøjer, der giver supplerende vurdering af en blodprop. Disse to teknikker tilsammen kan give mere indsigt i, hvordan koagulationsforhold påvirker fibrinpropdannelse.
