אנו מתארים מודל של תסמונת מצוקה נשימתית חריפה הנגרמת על ידי חומצה הידרוכלורית (ARDS) בחזירונים המקבלים הרגעה עם חומרים הלוגן, איזופלוראן ו sevoflurane, באמצעות מכשיר המשמש הרגעה בטיפול נמרץ בשאיפה. מודל זה יכול לשמש כדי לחקור את המנגנונים הביולוגיים של חומרים הלוגן על פגיעה בריאה ותיקון.
