यह प्रोटोकॉल चूहे के मॉडल में सामाजिक पदानुक्रम की जांच करने की विधि का वर्णन करता है। चूहे एक जटिल डाइविंग-फॉर-फूड टास्क करते हैं जिसमें वे पानी के नीचे गोता लगाने और भोजन गोली प्राप्त करने के लिए तैरने की इच्छा के अनुसार एक अलग पदानुक्रम बनाते हैं। इस विधि का उपयोग छोटे समूहों में अत्यधिक सामाजिक जानवरों के बीच निर्णय लेने और सामाजिक संबंधों को समझने के लिए किया जाता है।
