De krimp van tandcement tijdens het uitharden verdringt de bodemplaat. Dit protocol minimaliseert het probleem door een eerste fundering van het tandcement te creëren dat ruimte overlaat om de bodemplaat te cementeren. Weken later kan de bodemplaat op deze steiger worden gecementeerd met weinig nieuw cement, waardoor krimp wordt verminderd.
