En tilnærming er her presentert for langsiktig intravital avbildning ved hjelp av optisk klare, silikonvinduer som kan limes direkte til vev / organ av interesse og huden. Disse vinduene er billigere og mer allsidige enn andre som for tiden brukes i feltet, og kirurgisk innsetting forårsaker begrenset betennelse og nød for dyrene.
