De subretinale implantatie van retinaal gepigmenteerd epitheel (RPE) is een van de meest veelbelovende benaderingen voor de behandeling van degeneratieve retinale ziekten. De uitvoering van preklinische studies op diermodellen met grote ogen blijft echter een uitdaging. Dit rapport presenteert richtlijnen voor de subretinale transplantatie van RPE op een celdrager in minivarkens.
