Mitophagie ist der primäre Mechanismus der mitochondrialen Qualitätskontrolle. Die Bewertung der Mitophagie in vivo wird jedoch durch das Fehlen zuverlässiger quantitativer Assays behindert. Hier wird ein Protokoll zur Beobachtung der Mitophagie in lebenden Zellen unter Verwendung eines zellpermierten grün-fluoreszierenden Mitochondrienfarbstoffs und eines rot fluoreszierenden Lysosomenfarbstoffs vorgestellt.
