Een geoptimaliseerde techniek voor de microchirurgische creatie van arteriële bifurcatie aneurysma's na te bootsen bifurcatie menselijke cerebrale aneurysma's is beschreven. Een veneuze zakje wordt gehecht in een kunstmatig gecreëerde echte splitsing van beide gemeenschappelijke halsslagaders. Vergemakkelijkte microchirurgische technieken en agressief postoperatieve antistolling en analgesie leiden tot een minimale morbiditeit en hoge aneurysma doorgankelijkheid tarieven.
