The Ice-Cap-metoden gjør det mulig å dyrke planter i 96-brønn plater og non-destruktivt høster rot vev fra hver frøplante. DNA ekstrahert fra denne roten vev kan brukes for genotyping reaksjoner. Vi har funnet ut at Ice-Cap fungerer godt for<em> Arabidopsis thaliana</em>, Tomat og ris frøplanter.
