Schistosoma ביצים mansoni הם לגירוי חזק מסוג T helper 2 (Th2) בתגובה החיסונית, מאפיין של דלקת טפיל, אסטמה ודלקת אלרגית. פרוטוקול זה מנצל ס mansoni ביצה הזרקת ליצור CD4 תגובה ציטוקינים Th2-Induced דלקת בריאה, המאופיינת היווצרות גרנולומה ריאות סביב הביצה, eosinophilia והפעלה מקרופאג חלופי.
