Meting van het autonome zenuwstelsel activiteit regel beperkt de onderzoeker en deelnemer aan het laboratorium, dat een intimiderende omgeving kan bieden aan kinderen. De VU Ambulante Monitoring System (VU-AMS) apparaat kan cardiale autonome controle in elke omgeving op te nemen. De VU-AMS bleek zeer vatbaar voor het testen bij kinderen.
