We beschrijven eenvoudige methoden de regulering van intestinale serotonine transporter (SERT) functie en expressie onder toepassing van een in vitro celkweek model van Caco-2-cellen gekweekt in 3D en een ex vivo model van muis darmen bestuderen. Deze methoden zijn geschikt voor de studie van andere epitheliale transporters.
