Fiable, intermédiaire préparation à l'échelle du 1,2,3,4,5-pentaméthylcyclopentadiène (Cp * H) est présenté. Le protocole révisé pour la synthèse et la purification du ligand minimise le besoin d'équipement de laboratoire spécialisé, tout en simplifiant la réaction et les exercices d'endurance la purification du produit. L' utilisation de Cp * H dans la synthèse de [Cp * 2 MCl] 2 complexes (M = Ru, Ir) est également décrit.
