Eiwitten vaak meerdere domeinen die verschillende cellulaire functies kunnen uitoefenen. Gene knock-outs (KO) beschouw dit niet als functionele diversiteit. Hier melden wij een recombinatie-gemedieerde cassette uitwisseling (RMCE) gebaseerde structuur-functie benadering KO embryonale stamcellen waarmee de moleculaire dissectie van verschillende functionele domeinen of varianten van een eiwit.
