En ikke-mærket, ikke-radio-isotopiske metode for DNA polymerase korrekturlæsning og en DNA reparation assay blev udviklet ved hjælp af høj opløsning MALDI-TOF-massespektrometri og en enkelt nukleotid udvidelse strategi. Analysen viste sig at være meget specifikke, enkel, hurtig og let at udføre for korrekturlæsning og reparation patches kortere end 9-nukleotider.
