Målet med protokollen er å gi en metode for å produsere ikke-invasive nevronale lesjoner i hjernen. Metoden benytter Magnetic Resonance-guidede Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) for å åpne Blodhjernsbarrieren på en forbigående og fokal måte, for å levere et sirkulerende nevrotoksin til hjernens parenchyma.
