Hier presenteren we een protocol voor het bestuderen van de paringsconcurrentie van mannelijke Aedes aegypti met fluorescerende kleurstof als marker. Vrouwelijke muggen worden blootgesteld aan zowel gemarkeerde als ongemarkeerde mannetjes voor copulatie. Na de paring worden hun spermathecae onderzocht onder een fluorescentiemicroscoop om hun paringspartner te bepalen.
