Een specifieke en gevoelige methode om inzicht te krijgen in de expressie profiel van glycosfingolipiden antigenen in het immuunsysteem organen en cellen wordt beschreven. De methode maakt gebruik van de ion trap massaspectrometrie waardoor stapsgewijze versnippering van glycosfingolipiden moleculen voor structurele analyse in vergelijking met chemisch gesynthetiseerde standaard.
