En EEG forsøgsprotokol er designet til at afklare samspillet mellem bevidste og ikke-bevidste repræsentationer af følelsesmæssige ansigter hos patienter med Aspergers syndrom. Teknikken viser, at patienter med Aspergers syndrom har underskud i ikke-bevidst repræsentation af følelsesmæssige ansigter, men har sammenlignelig præstation i bevidst repræsentation med raske kontrolpersoner.
