Ammoniak fiber ekspansion (AFEX) er en termokemisk forbehandling teknologi, der kan konvertere lignocellulose biomasse (f.eks majs stover, ris halm, og sukkerrør bagasse) i en meget fordøjelig råvare til både biobrændstoffer og dyrefoder applikationer. Her beskriver vi en laboratorieskalametode til gennemførelse af AFEX-forbehandling på lignocellulosebiomasse.
