Hier wordt een protocol om na te bootsen de ingang van bacteriële afkomstige verbindingen na de schending van de intestinale barrière gepresenteerd. Een lage dosis subletale lipopolysaccharide werd systemisch geïnjecteerd in muizen, die werden gecontroleerd voor 24u na injectie. De expressie van pro-ontsteking cytokinen werd vastgesteld op verschillende tijdstippen in de milt, lever en dikke darm.
