De traanklier (LG) heeft twee soorten cellen uitdrukken α-Smooth spier actine (αSMA): Myo cellen (MECs) en pericyten. MECs zijn van ectodermale oorsprong, gevonden in vele klier weefsels, terwijl pericyten zijn vasculaire gladde spiercellen van endodermal oorsprong. Dit protocol isoleert MECs en pericyten van muizen LGs.
