Este protocolo descreve um método comum e viável de induzir lesão hepática aguda (ALI) através da exposição ao ClC4 através de uma sonda orogástrica. A exposição ao CCl4 induz ali através da formação de espécies reativas de oxigênio durante sua biotransformação no fígado. Este método é utilizado para analisar a fisiopatologia da ALI e examinar diferentes estratégias hepatoprotetoras.
