Dit artikel beschrijft de experimentele procedures voor (a) depletie van U1 snRNP uit nucleaire extracten, met gelijktijdig verlies van splicingactiviteit; en (b) reconstitutie van splicingactiviteit in het U1-uitgeputte extract door galectine-3 - U1 snRNP-deeltjes gebonden aan kralen covalent gekoppeld aan anti-galectine-3-antilichamen.
