Her præsenteres en protokol om at isolere og transfekte primær iris og retinale pigment epitelceller fra forskellige pattedyr (mus, rotte, kanin, gris og kvæg). Metoden er velegnet til at studere okulære genterapimetoder i forskellige set-ups til ex vivo-analyser og in vivo-studier, der kan overføres til mennesker.
