El cierre de un foramen oval permeable (FOP) es una intervención basada en catéteres para prevenir el accidente cerebrovascular asociado al FOP. El dispositivo de oclusión de FOP se avanza a través de la vena femoral y se despliega a través del tabique interauricular mediante ecocardiografía transesofágica (ETE) y guía fluoroscópica. El siguiente protocolo proporciona una guía paso a paso para la intervención de cierre del FOP utilizando un dispositivo de doble disco.
