Denne protokol tillader isolering af Epstein-Barr-viruspartikler fra den humane P3HR1-cellelinje ved inducering af den virale lytiske cyklus med phorbol 12-myristat 13-acetat. DNA ekstraheres efterfølgende fra det virale præparat og udsættes for PCR i realtid for at kvantificere den virale partikelkoncentration.
