This video demonstrates the procedure to generate photothrombotic stroke in a mouse model by laser illumination of an intact skull following administration of photosensitive dye.

Protocol

All procedures involving animal models have been reviewed by the local institutional animal care committee and the JoVE veterinary review board. 1. Preparation of the animal Inject analgesia 30 min before surgery (4 mg/kg Carprofen and 0.1 mg/kg Buprenorphine).
