Transcraniële gelijkstroom stimulatie (tDCS) is een niet-invasieve hersenstimulatie techniek die heeft aangetoond aanvankelijke therapeutische effecten bij verschillende neurologische aandoeningen. De belangrijkste onderliggende mechanisme van deze therapeutische effecten is de modulatie van corticale prikkelbaarheid. Daarom zou online monitoren van corticale prikkelbaarheid helpen begeleiden stimulatie parameters en optimaliseren van de therapeutische effecten. In dit artikel bespreken we het gebruik van een nieuw apparaat dat gelijktijdige tDCS en EEG-monitoring combineert in real time.
