Infrarood zenuwstimulatie is voorgesteld als een alternatief voor elektrische stimulatie in een reeks zenuw types, waaronder die gepaard gaan met het gehoorsysteem. Dit protocol beschrijft een patch clamp methode voor het bestuderen van het mechanisme van infrarood zenuwstimulatie in een kweek van primaire auditieve neuronen.
