Menselijke tumorxenotransplantaten in immunodeficiënte muizen zijn waardevolle instrumenten om kanker biologie studeren. Specifieke protocollen voor subcutane en intrahepatische xenograften uit menselijke hepatocellulair carcinoom cellen of tumorfragmenten genereren worden beschreven. Leverregeneratie geïnduceerd door gedeeltelijke hepatectomie in ontvangende muizen wordt gepresenteerd als een strategie om intrahepatische engraftment vergemakkelijken.
