Vi genetisk kode unaturlig aminosyre-, p-azido-L-fenylalanin ved forskjellige målrettede stillinger i GPCR og viser allsidigheten av azidogruppen i forskjellige anvendelser. Disse omfatter en målrettet photocrosslinking teknologi for å identifisere rester i det ligand-bindende lomme av et GPCR, og spesifikke bioorthogonal modifikasjon av GPCR med en peptid-epitop tag eller fluoriserende probe.
