Vi genetiskt koda den onaturliga aminosyror, p-azido-L-fenylalanin vid olika riktade positioner i GPCRs och visar mångsidigheten hos azidogrupp i olika applikationer. Dessa inkluderar en riktad fototvär teknik för att identifiera rester i den ligandbindande fickan hos en GPCR, och sätesspecifik bioorthogonal modifiering av GPCR: er med en peptid-epitop-tag eller fluorescerande sond.
