Een standaard Western blotting protocol is geoptimaliseerd voor het analyseren van slechts 500 hematopoietische stamcellen of voorlopercellen. Optimalisatie houdt zorgvuldige behandeling van het monster van de cel, beperking van de overdracht tussen buizen en direct het lysing van cellen in Laemmli monster buffer.
