Dit protocol beschrijft een gemeenschappelijke en haalbare methode voor het induceren van acute leverschade (ALI) via CCl4 blootstelling via een orogastrische buis. CCl4 blootstelling induceert ALI door de vorming van reactieve zuurstofsoorten tijdens de biotransformatie in de lever. Deze methode wordt gebruikt om de pathofysiologie van ALI te analyseren en verschillende hepatoprotectieve strategieën te onderzoeken.
