Dit protocol is bedoeld om gedetailleerde procedures te bieden voor het verzamelen, fixeren en onderhouden van mycoheterotrofe plantenmonsters, waarbij verschillende microscopietechnieken worden toegepast, zoals scanning- en transmissie-elektronenmicroscopie, licht-, confocale en fluorescentiemicroscopie om schimmelkolonisatie te bestuderen in plantenweefsels en zaden ontkiemd met mycorrhizaschimmels.
