Hier presenteren we een protocol om de mitochondriale DNA-kopienummers in een runderoöcyt aanzienlijk te verminderen (P < 0,0001). Deze methode maakt gebruik van centrifugatie en bisectie om de mitochondriën van de eicel aanzienlijk te verminderen en kan een verhoogde kans op ontwikkeling mogelijk maken in de gereconstrueerde interspecies somatische celkerntransferembryo's.
