Een belangrijke belemmering voor de biochemische analyses van de ribosomen met ontluikende peptidyl-tRNA's is de aanwezigheid van andere ribosomen zijn in dezelfde monsters, ribosomen niet betrokken bij de vertaling van de specifieke mRNA-sequentie worden geanalyseerd. We ontwikkelden een eenvoudige methode om uitsluitend te zuiveren,, de ribosomen met de ontluikende peptidyl-tRNA van belang.
