Waterige tweefasensysteem systemen werden gebruikt om gelijktijdig meerdere patroon populaties van cellen. Deze snelle en gemakkelijke methode voor patroonvorming cel maakt gebruik van de fasenscheiding van waterige oplossingen van dextran en polyethyleenglycol en de grensvlakspanning die tussen de twee polymeeroplossingen.
