Os osteoclastos são polykaryons tecido-específicos do macrófago derivados da linhagem do monocyte-macrófago de pilhas de haste hematopoietic. Este protocolo descreve como isolar pilhas da medula de modo que as grandes quantidades de osteoclastos sejam obtidas ao reduzir o risco de acidentes encontrados em métodos tradicionais.
