Dit protocol biedt een efficiënte collagenase-verteringsmethode voor isolatie van levensvatbare adipocyten en stromale vasculaire fractie-SVF-cellen uit menselijk visceraal vet in één enkel proces, inclusief methodologie om hoogwaardig RNA uit adipocyten te verkrijgen en fenotypificatie van SVF-macrofagen door kleuring van meerdere membraangebonden markers voor analyse door middel van flowcytometrie.
